Blake's story

I know what it's like to have a book in your head.

Because mine sat there for three years.

Blake de Vos

I am Blake de Vos, and I was not the obvious candidate for this. I took six years to finish a three-year degree and got out with a 51% pass mark. I went into a corporate job because that was what you did, and lasted about as long as you would expect.

Writing started as somewhere to put the self-doubt. It turned into a book — The 6 Pillars of a Rewarding Life — and then it turned into three years of starting, stopping and starting again. I did not have a publishing background. I did not really know what I was doing. I just knew there was something I wanted to say.

What finally worked was not more motivation. It was a structure. I rewrote the whole book in six months, and in November 2022 it came out at number 13 on the charts.

Then I did it again. Evolve Your Skills in April 2023, and Publish to Impact after that, which went to number one in Business Writing. Three thousand copies later, the thing I noticed was not the sales. It was that the book kept introducing me to people I would never have met otherwise.

So I built the business I needed when I started. Impact Group Publishing exists so the next person does not lose three years working out what took me three years to work out. That is still the whole point of it, and I am still the one on your calls.

What we believe

Every business owner has a book in them

You have spent years learning something other people would pay to know. That is a book. It should be as normal for a business owner to publish one as it is to have a website.

A book is a business asset, not a product

Royalties are not the point and never were. The book earns its keep by the rooms it gets you into, the clients who arrive already convinced, and the price you can charge once you are the person who wrote the book on it.

It should be yours

You own the rights to your book. Your name, your asset, your decisions about what happens to it. We are not a traditional publisher and we do not want to own what you wrote.

We will tell you the truth

If there is not a book in your idea yet, we will say so on the first call rather than take the money and find out later. That is the whole reason the call is free.

Where this is going

The goal is 250 business owners becoming published authors. Not 250 manuscripts sitting in a drawer — 250 people whose books are doing something for them.

Let's find out if there's a book in you.

Spend thirty minutes with me on your book idea. We will get clear on what it is really about and how much you already have to write about, then map the strategy behind it and your pathway to becoming a published author in six months.
