Who we are

What we collect

Information you give us. Your name, email address, phone number and business details when you book a call, download something, subscribe, apply for a programme or sign up to AuthorImpact.

What you write. If you are a client or an AuthorImpact user, that includes your book positioning, your outline, your chapters and anything else you put into the platform.

Payment information. Handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card details.

Usage information. Pages visited, roughly where you are from, what browser you used, and how you arrived — collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Why we collect it

To answer you, run the call you booked, and deliver the programme or platform you signed up to.

To send you things you asked for, and occasional emails about our work. Every one of them has an unsubscribe link and it works.

To measure and improve our advertising, so we spend less showing ads to people who do not want them.

To meet our legal and tax obligations.

Your manuscript is yours

Anything you write in AuthorImpact or send us as part of a programme stays yours. You keep the copyright and every other right in your work.

We access your manuscript only to deliver the service — coaching, feedback, editing, production — or where you have asked us to. We do not sell it, publish it without your say-so, or use it to train anybody's AI model.

Ask Blake, the coaching feature inside AuthorImpact, sends the part of your book you are working on to an AI provider so it can answer about your book. That content is not used to train their models.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it with the services that run our business, and only as far as they need it:

Vercel, which hosts this website. Supabase, which stores AuthorImpact data. GoHighLevel, our CRM and booking calendar. Our email provider. Stripe, for payments. Meta, for advertising measurement. CommonNinja, for the book and press displays on this site. Anthropic, which powers Ask Blake.

Some of these store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. By using the site you consent to that transfer.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it.

Cookies and tracking

This site uses cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and measure advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of AuthorImpact will not work without them.

We use the Meta pixel to understand which ads bring people here. You can opt out of personalised advertising in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings.

How we keep it

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Our platform uses encrypted connections and access controls, and only the people who need your data can see it.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide the service and to meet our legal obligations, then we delete or de-identify it.

Getting a copy, or getting it deleted

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email admin@impactgrouppublishing.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

AuthorImpact users can export their own data from inside the platform at any time.

Deleting your account removes your personal information, though we may need to keep some records for tax and legal reasons.

Children

Our services are for adults in business. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

If you are unhappy

Email admin@impactgrouppublishing.com and tell us what has gone wrong. We will look into it and come back to you.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when what we do changes. The date at the top tells you when it last changed, and material changes will be notified to anyone with an account.
